Beacon Hill Legal’s client, a boutique real estate investment company, is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal for a 3-month contract coverage, with the potential for extension.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience, in a corporate legal department or law firm, preparing and drafting leases, amendments, letter agreements, termination/surrender agreements, telecommunication license agreements, SNDAs, estoppel certificates.
Candidates must be comfortable commuting to the office five times a week and be available for overtime as business needs arise. Pay rate is dependent on experience and starts at $35/hr.
Primary Responsibilities
· Coordinate documents with Leasing, Property Management, Asset Management and Acquisitions teams
· Prepare all general correspondence and legal leasing documents including leases, amendments, letter agreements, termination/surrender agreements, telecommunication license agreements, SNDAs, estoppel certificates
· Work with the Acquisitions Department on re-financings, sales and dispositions
· Serve as liaison for Tenants and Building Managers and respond to internal/external inquiries about leases/tenants
· Handle limited personal functions transactions and renewing memberships and subscriptions
· Coordinate appointments and meetings.
· Process accounts receivable/accounts payable invoices
· Compose/distribute confidential correspondence, including email
· Interface with attorneys, banks and buildings’ staff and tenants
· Conduct Internet and subscription source research on various topics
· Keep all legal files well-organized, including preparing labels and electronic counterparts
· Upload documents to internal corporate filing systems (FileStar and LeaseTracker)
Education & Experience
· 5+ years relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department required and specifically in drafting, editing, and backlining lease related documents
· Real Estate-specific experience is preferred.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
· Ability to commute to the office in Midtown daily
· Advanced use of Microsoft Word (tables of content, blacklining, document retrieval)
· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, mainly for expense reports
· Need for confidentiality/discretion
· Must be prepared to report quarterly personal stock trading activity to comply with requirements applicable to registered investment advisors
