Senior Accountant

We are partnering with a nonprofit organization in Oakland seeking a Senior Accountant for a 3-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance within a grant-funded environment. The ideal candidate has nonprofit accounting experience and can work independently in a fast-paced setting.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, supporting audits, managing full-cycle AP/AR, and assisting with month-end close. This is a great opportunity to join a mission-driven organization with long-term growth potential.

Requirements

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
• Support external audits and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Experience working in a nonprofit and grant-funded environment.
• CPA preferred but not required.
