Responsibilities
- Draft standard operating procedures to support warehouse and shipping and receiving dock operations.
- Execute safe, compliant on-the-floor operations including but not limited to, receiving, put away, cycle counts, picking and component preparation for manufacturing and final product shipping. Support associated activities as required.
- Adhere to all GMP and SOP requirements; recognizing deviations, applying appropriate corrective actions, and contributing to/establishing preventative actions as dictated by the deviation investigation and root cause analysis.
- Lead and/or otherwise participate in shop-floor team huddles to ensure performance measures relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Expense and People are met.
- Maintain accurate inventory of GMP warehouse materials through ERP transactions and execute cycle count process to ensure accuracy and control of inventory volumes.
- Arrange shipments including booking/scheduling and document creation; international shipments: customs invoice, export filing.
- Receive incoming shipments of non-GMP/GMP materials and equipment following established procedures.
- Ensure inventory levels on shipping supplies and other needed materials; order and replenish as needed.
- Represent in cross functional teams and collaborate to achieve goals.
- Initiate and participate in investigations and assist in resolving operational problems, identifying root cause.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement activities.
- Help drive daily Materials Management operations and activities to support the GMP Production operations and other internal customers.
- Handle the day-to-day assignments of warehouse and shipping and receiving job tasks and monitor completion of required activities in a timely manner.
- Prepare and deliver raw materials, samples, finished product, etc. to various departments and facilities as needed ensuring proper procedure and temperature range requirements are followed.
- Communicate inventory discrepancies to warehouse operations leadership.
- Cross-train in all areas of the warehouse operations and train new hires
- Ensure individual employee training is up-to-date.
- Keep warehouse and shipping and receiving dock areas clean and inspection ready.
Requirements:
- High school or and Associate degree with 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology Materials Management, GMP distribution/warehouse operations, shipping and receiving. Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with cold chain management including but not limited to thermal packaging and temperature monitoring devices.
- Experience with arranging transportation services and associated duties
- Experience with international shipments
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powepoint)
- Lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 lb. of equipment or supplies
- Squat, bend, kneel, climb, and/or reach for 75% of the day
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility.
- Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in the collaborative work environment
- Willing to accept assignment outside of initial job description.
Preferred Requirements:
- IATA Certification and/or past DOT certification
- Experience with WMS, ERP and SAP
