Our client is seeking a talented Short-term Lab Contractual Technician with broad expertise in utilizing human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to best incorporate the human genetic context of common diseases into disease modeling. In this role, you will be an essential part of an interdisciplinary team that uses state-of-the-art technologies to enhance the throughput and physiological relevance of cellular models to discover novel therapeutic targets. Responsibilities
- Assist in the establishment and execution of protocols to scale up the generation of iPSC models of human diseases involving CNS and peripheral organ cell types. Large-scale tissue culture and automation experience is preferable.
- Independently perform research requiring cell biology techniques, including human stem cell culture.
- Work in collaboration with team members to ensure lab experiments are well-planned and executed.
- Provide clear and complete documentation of experimental work in concise reports.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in biology, neuroscience, cell and molecular biology or a closely related field.
- 2-5+ years of experience in an academic or industry setting.
- Proven expertise in developing human stem cell models and assays.
- Experience with human pluripotent stem cell culture automation and high throughput systems.
- Self-motivation, an ability to work independently, highly organized with very strong attention to detail, and a desire to learn new skills.
- A record of innovative thinking, initiative and successful application of iPSC approaches to practical challenges in drug discovery.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
