Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Payroll Clerk to support high-volume, biweekly payroll processing. This role is responsible for auditing payroll data, processing adjustments, supporting onboarding and offboarding payroll activities, and serving as a resource for employee payroll inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with supervisors and managers to resolve missing, inconsistent, or inaccurate payroll data and correct discrepancies identified during audits.
- Support high-volume, biweekly payroll processing.
- Enter and process approved payroll corrections and prior period adjustments.
- Calculate and process retroactive payments and manual pay adjustments as needed.
- Process final pay for terminated employees through the payroll system or manually when required.
- Partner with HR to manage payroll for employees on Leave of Absence, including timecard updates.
- Maintain payroll records to ensure compliance with internal policies and federal/state wage and tax reporting requirements.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding payroll activities.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and accrual balances.
- Perform additional payroll-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume environment
- Knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax reporting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with HR and managers
- Proficient in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
