Job Title: PeopleSoft Technical Consultant
Location: Madison, WI
Type: Contract
Duration: Through December 19, 2025 (Start date: September 8 or earlier)
Pay Rate: $68-74/hour
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive PeopleSoft Technical Consultant to support a short-term engagement focused on PeopleTools administration and MS SQL Server database support. The consultant will work within a higher education environment, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and scalability of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2 running on PeopleTools 8.61 and SQL Server 2022.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support PeopleSoft environments across development, test, and production tiers.
- Apply PeopleTools patches and PUM image updates using Change Assistant.
- Execute project migrations, manage DMS scripts, and perform object merges (preferably using PHIRE).
- Collaborate with development and functional teams for performance tuning and issue resolution.
- Maintain and optimize SQL Server 2022 databases, including backups, patching, and high-availability configurations.
- Document system architecture, deployment steps, and standard operating procedures.
- Support capacity planning and proactive monitoring.
Top Skills & Experience:
- Deep expertise in PeopleTools (v8.58 or higher; 8.61 preferred) and Campus Solutions 9.2.
- Experience in higher education PeopleSoft environments.
- Proficiency with Change Assistant, PUM updates, and environment refreshes.
- Strong MS SQL Server 2022 administration skills.
- Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, batch scripting, SQL).
- Excellent documentation and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- At least 5 years of technical experience with PeopleSoft and MS SQL Server.
- In-depth knowledge of on-premise MS SQL Server administration.
