Performance Engineer (#477973E)

Will work on Kafka performance tuning, optimizing cluster configurations, partition strategies, and consumer group settings to enhance throughput, reduce latency, and ensure scalability, improving system reliability and responsiveness. Implement comprehensive performance optimization for databases and SQL queries such as indexing, and denormalization resulting in 36% improvements in query response times and system efficiency. Monitor Server metrics at a granular level, including user, system, idle, and wait times, utilizing tools such as perf and vmstat. Analyze CPU utilization patterns, thread scheduling behavior, and interrupt handling efficiency to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization. Analyze server-side resources, such as CPU usage, network, disk I/O, and deadlocks, during performance tests using Graphana, and Dynatrace, Validating overall system performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize database schemas, enhancing efficiency and scalability in IBM Informix environments. Utilize Splunk to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot complex IT infrastructure, enable proactive detection of issues and rapid incident response, resulting in improved system reliability and performance. Migrate the performance scripts from the license base tool (LoadRunner) to an open source (JMeter) cloud-based solution, thereby eliminating the licensing fees and reduce operating costs. Utilize JProfiler to conduct comprehensive Java performance analysis, profiling critical aspects such as memory usage, thread activity, CPU consumption, and method-level execution times. Employ advanced features such as heap walker, thread telemetry, and CPU profiling to pinpoint performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and inefficient code paths. Analyze Grafana and Splunk dashboards for real-time analysis, enable proactive optimization strategies, and enhance system reliability. Optimize JMS (Java Message Service) configurations and message process workflows, fine tuning message delivery settings, message acknowledgment mechanisms, and consumer concurrency levels to enhance message throughput, reliability, and scalability in distributed messaging environments.

Position requires up to 100% domestic travel. This position is for full-time, salaried (W-2), permanent employment.

Requirements:

Position requires a Bachelors Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the Software Industry.
