Project Overview
The Lab Support Technician plays a pivotal role in managing and scaling lab infrastructure to support product testing and validation. This position ensures test infrastructure scales with global operations and facilitates expansion across all product lines.
Day-to-Day Duties:
* Be the on-site person for Lab maintenance and support to ensure the infrastructure is usable remotely by all teams
* Set-up of Mac and PC machines in the lab with standardized images and security patches
* Work with IT on to always ensure connectivity in the lab
* Set-up/assemble racks of machines/servers and update HW as needed for test and validation
* Work with the Test and Development teams to purchase test equipment (Switches, phones, Macs, USB cables etc.) and get it shipped to DXCM
* Build/maintain and allocate VMs to scale test infrastructure and make it available to team
* Ensure that all lab activities comply with safety regulations, protocols, and ethical standards.
* Collect debug logs and work with IT team as needed to always ensure proper network connectivity in the lab
* Install automation tools to collect data and monitor stats for the lab
Use lab management SW to take inventory and track the health of lab devices
* Collaborate with other teams to standardize lab management tools
* Keep detailed records of inventory purchases to shipped to teams
* Document the lab layout and usage, processes, device info etc. so that it’s easily accessible to all test engineers

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, protocols, and ethical standards for lab activities.
Collect debug logs and work with IT to resolve network connectivity issues.
Install automation tools to monitor lab stats and performance.
Use lab management software to track inventory and device health.
Collaborate with teams to standardize lab management tools.
Keep detailed records of inventory, shipments, and documentation of lab layouts, processes, and device info.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
3+ years of experience in building and maintaining engineering labs.
Expertise in racking servers, cabling, and maintaining test fixtures.
Hands-on experience with Windows and Mac OS, including snapshots, backups, and security patches.
Proficiency in lab administration tasks and lab/infrastructure management tools.
Experience with inventory management (asset tracking, labeling).
Ability to set up, manage, and configure VMs for multiple users.
Knowledge of safety measures and experience training lab personnel, maintaining safety inspection records.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic knowledge of shell scripting or Python.
Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for documentation.
