Senior Accountant (Real Estate / Property Accounting)
A well-established nonprofit real estate organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support a portfolio of properties. This role handles full-cycle property accounting, monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting support, and audit coordination. Ideal for someone who enjoys owning their books and working cross-functionally with property managers and finance leadership.
What You’ll Do
Own general ledger accounting for assigned properties
Prepare monthly financial statements and reconciliations
Post journal entries and resolve variances
Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, income, and expenses
Support annual budgeting and reforecasting
Partner with auditors through year-end audits and reporting
Track reserve activity and key property-level financials
Review financials across broader property portfolio as needed
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of accounting experience (real estate or property accounting strongly preferred)
Experience with full-cycle GL and month-end close
Strong reconciliation and financial analysis skills
Comfortable working under deadlines
High attention to detail
Experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting systems a plus
Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field (Bachelor’s a plus)
