Controller

Our client is a privately held organization within the construction and project services industry seeking an experienced Controller to join its leadership team. This individual will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, cost accounting, cash management, internal controls, and strategic financial planning while partnering closely with operations and project leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all construction accounting activities, including WIP reporting, job costing, revenue recognition, and project profitability analysis
• Partner closely with Project Managers and operational leadership to monitor project performance, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
• Lead financial reporting, month-end close, cash management, and compliance activities
• Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding project performance, risk, and profitability
• Develop and mentor the accounting team while strengthening internal controls and scalable processes

Key Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Construction accounting experience required
• Strong expertise in WIP schedules, job costing, and project financial analysis
• Experience leading and developing accounting staff
• Experience with construction ERP/accounting systems such as Vista Viewpoint or similar platforms preferred
• Collaborative, hands-on leadership approach
