Staff Accountant

Temporary Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the accounting team on a temporary project assignment. This role will assist with key accounting functions, including account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close activities, inventory analysis, and financial reporting support. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting principles, experience working within an ERP system, and advanced Excel skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post routine journal entries.
• Perform account reconciliations and assist with internal control processes.
• Support month-end and period-end close activities.
• Analyze inventory balances and related accounting transactions.
• Assist with accounts payable and other financial analysis projects.
• Review financial data for accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with accounting and finance team members on special projects and process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP platforms.
• Background in manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, life sciences, or healthcare-related industries.
• Experience assisting with process improvement or accounting cleanup projects.
