The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely compensation for employees. This role involves managing payroll staff, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and collaborating with HR and Finance departments to support organizational goals. The Payroll Manager also ensures the integrity of payroll data, reporting, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, including hourly, salaried, and contract staff.

Review and approve payroll calculations, adjustments, and deductions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Maintain and update payroll systems and records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, wage reports, and other required documentation.

Reconcile payroll accounts and coordinate with Finance for accurate general ledger postings.

Lead, train, and support payroll team members to ensure efficient operations and adherence to best practices.

Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, management, and external agencies in a professional and timely manner.

Stay current with changes in tax laws, wage regulations, and compliance requirements affecting payroll.

Generate payroll reports and provide analysis for audits, budgeting, and management decision-making.

Collaborate with HR to ensure proper handling of new hires, terminations, benefits deductions, and leave management.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.

Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Workday, Ceridian, or similar).

In-depth understanding of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and reporting requirements.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Effective communication and leadership abilities.

CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred.
