Location: This position will require local travel within about an hour from Runnemede, NJ.
Duration: Ongoing contract
Travel: Local travel – will need to use your own vehicle – travel mileage will be reimbursed.
The Desktop Support Technician provides hands-on technical support to end users, with a primary focus on desktop and laptop deployment, imaging, device management, and day-to-day troubleshooting. This role supports both new hire onboarding and ongoing hardware and software needs across the organization.
Responsibilities
* Deploy, configure, and refresh desktop and laptop systems for new hires and existing employees
* Perform device imaging using standard build processes and tools
* Manage and support devices through Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows and macOS operating systems
* Provide Tier 1-2 desktop support for hardware, software, and peripheral issues
* Troubleshoot issues related to printers, monitors, docking stations, and other endpoint devices
* Support user account setup, access issues, and basic application troubleshooting
* Document deployments, incidents, and resolutions in a ticketing system
* Maintain hardware inventory and assist with asset tracking and lifecycle management
* Follow IT security and compliance standards during device setup and support
* Collaborate with IT team members on projects, upgrades, and process improvements
Required
* 2+ years of experience in desktop or end-user support
* Hands-on experience with desktop deployment and imaging
* Experience supporting MDM solutions (such as Intune, Jamf, or similar)
* Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11 and macOS
* Experience supporting laptops, desktops, and endpoint peripherals
* Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
