Location: Medford, OR (Relocation Required)
Job Type: Direct Hire, Full Time
Compensation: $170,000-$200,000 DOE + Short-Term Incentive, Long-Term Incentive, and Relocation Assistance
Reports To: Region Production Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead one of the largest plywood manufacturing facilities in North America. This position is responsible for the overall performance of the operation, including safety, production, quality, maintenance, environmental compliance, employee development, financial performance, and continuous improvement.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a proven manufacturing executive who can drive results through people, maintain a strong safety culture, and effectively manage a large-scale 24/7 operation. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands the business side of manufacturing as well as the day-to-day realities of plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, safety, quality, environmental compliance, inventory, and workforce development.
  • Ensure the facility consistently meets production targets, quality standards, cost objectives, and customer commitments.
  • Manage plant budgets, capital projects, operating plans, and overall financial performance.
  • Drive a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators related to production, maintenance, quality, and financial performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, reliability, and cost reduction.
  • Build, coach, and develop both salaried and hourly employees while fostering a culture of accountability and engagement.
  • Partner with leadership on strategic planning, capital investments, staffing, and operational initiatives.
  • Manage employee relations, labor matters, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • Communicate plant goals, priorities, and performance expectations across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Proven success leading large-scale manufacturing facilities with responsibility for safety, quality, production, maintenance, and financial performance.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, capital planning, P&L management, operational metrics, and business strategy.
  • Experience managing both salaried and hourly workforces.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop teams, drive change, and improve operational performance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Required Background

  • Wood products manufacturing experience is required.
  • Experience in plywood, veneer, lumber, engineered wood products, or related wood manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading large facilities with 200+ employees.
  • Experience in 24/7 manufacturing operations.
  • Experience managing within a union environment.
  • Full P&L responsibility and capital project leadership experience.
