Senior Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to support a fast-paced organization with multi-state payroll operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while contributing to ongoing system and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Process full-cycle payroll for a multi-state employee population using a centralized payroll system
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements
  • Maintain payroll records, including timekeeping, deductions, benefits, and tax filings
  • Administer garnishments, child support orders, and other employee withholdings
  • Reconcile payroll data and prepare reports for accounting and audit purposes
  • Partner with HR and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure data accuracy
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Support system updates, testing, and continuous process improvements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance and reporting
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (UKG preferred)
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
