Senior Payroll Specialist
We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to support a fast-paced organization with multi-state payroll operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while contributing to ongoing system and process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle payroll for a multi-state employee population using a centralized payroll system
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements
- Maintain payroll records, including timekeeping, deductions, benefits, and tax filings
- Administer garnishments, child support orders, and other employee withholdings
- Reconcile payroll data and prepare reports for accounting and audit purposes
- Partner with HR and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure data accuracy
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Support system updates, testing, and continuous process improvements
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance and reporting
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (UKG preferred)
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
