An excellent client of ours located in Wilmington, DE is looking for a Controller to join their team.
This role oversees core accounting operations and provides strategic financial leadership across reporting, technical accounting, and compliance functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial accounting and reporting activities, including consolidated financial statements, cash flow reporting, and retirement plan reporting.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Serve as the organization’s technical accounting resource, advising leadership on complex transactions, new accounting standards, and business initiatives.
- Oversee investment and lease accounting, including joint ventures, equity method investments, and ASC 842 compliance.
- Partner with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to enhance reporting processes, systems, and operational performance.
- Research and implement accounting policies for non-routine transactions and evolving accounting guidance.
- Lead financial analysis, variance reporting, and preparation of materials for executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and Finance Committee.
- Act as primary contact for external auditors and oversee audit coordination.
- Maintain strong internal controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and support enterprise risk management initiatives.
