Position Summary
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy of financial records and ensuring timely, compliant financial reporting. This position leads complex accounting activities, supports month-end close, prepares financial analyses, and partners with cross-functional teams to improve processes and strengthen internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
Perform and review complex account reconciliations (balance sheet and P&L)
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Research and resolve accounting issues, providing technical guidance as needed
Support external and internal audits, including preparation of audit schedules
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, and company policies
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements and automation
Mentor and review work of Staff Accountants
Collaborate with FP&A, Payroll, AP/AR, and Operations teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
3-7 years of progressive accounting experience (public or corporate)
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar)
Proven ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
