About the Role
The company is hiring an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations. This role is responsible for managing the month-end close, preparing journal entries, performing bank reconciliations, and overseeing accounts payable from invoice to payment. It is a hands-on execution role with a clear growth path as the company continues to scale.
The Accounting Manager will report directly to senior accounting leadership. As the organization grows, this position will have the opportunity to hire and manage junior accounting staff and transition into a more strategic oversight role within the accounting function.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full month-end close process including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules while maintaining accurate transaction classification within the accounting system.
- Oversee the full accounts payable cycle including vendor setup, invoice processing, payments, and 1099 tracking while evaluating and implementing AP automation tools.
- Partner with external accounting firms on projects and ongoing support, assist with audits and ad hoc financial analysis, and continuously improve accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud-based accounting systems and managing the full month-end close process.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, experience working with accounts payable automation platforms, and advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Public accounting or external audit experience and prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Background documenting accounting processes and internal controls and familiarity with spend management platforms.
- Experience supporting technology or digital platform companies and CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
