A growing healthcare services and technology company is seeking an Employment Counsel with 7+ years of experience to provide practical, business-focused legal advice on a wide range of employment matters. This role will work closely with HR and company leadership to support a multi-state workforce and help manage legal risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on employment law matters, including hiring, terminations, employee relations, workplace investigations, discrimination and harassment issues, wage and hour compliance, leaves of absence, and workplace policies.
- Partner with HR and management to address complex employment issues and develop compliant, practical solutions.
- Manage or oversee employment-related agency charges and litigation, coordinating with outside counsel as needed.
- Draft and review employment agreements, policies, handbooks, and related documentation.
- Provide training and guidance on employment law developments and best practices.
- Support organizational initiatives while helping ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Qualifications:
- J.D. and active bar membership in a U.S. jurisdiction.
- 7+ years of employment law experience, either in-house, at a law firm, or both.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and employee relations matters.
- Experience handling employment disputes, investigations, and agency matters.
- Excellent judgment, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in healthcare, technology, or other regulated industries is a plus.
Location: Washington, DC area preferred; remote candidates may be considered.
