Evening Legal Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Evening Legal Assistant to provide after-hours support to attorneys across litigation and corporate practice groups. This role is ideal for a highly organized legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgment independently, and delivers exceptional work product under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Litigation Support

  • Draft, revise, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files, including document management and indexing.
  • Assist with all phases of discovery, including document production, deposition preparation, and exhibit management.
  • Support trial and hearing preparation by coordinating exhibits, binders, filings, and logistics.

Corporate Support

  • Prepare, revise, and proofread corporate and transactional documents.
  • Assemble signature packets and manage execution processes.
  • Compile and organize fully executed agreements and closing documentation.
  • Provide administrative and document support for ongoing corporate matters.

Administrative Support

  • Provide responsive after-hours support to attorneys and clients.
  • Format, proofread, and edit complex legal documents in accordance with firm standards.
  • Prepare Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive and privileged information.
  • Collaborate with day-shift and evening team members to ensure seamless workflow and matter coverage.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of legal assistant experience within a law firm environment.
  • Significant litigation support experience, including trial preparation and court filings.
  • Exposure to corporate or transactional practice areas preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word document formatting, redlining, and document comparison.
  • Experience with document management systems such as iManage or NetDocuments.
  • Familiarity with litigation support and e-discovery platforms.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
