Contract Attorney 3+ Years Experience

A well-established civil litigation law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its growing defense litigation practice on a contract basis. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators and gain hands-on experience handling a diverse caseload involving premises liability, personal injury, and general liability matters.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Active Texas Bar license in good standing.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- 3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred.
- Experience in one or more of the following practice areas is a plus:
- General liability
- Premises liability
- Bodily injury
- Product liability
- Construction defect litigation
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Experience with depositions, court appearances, motion practice, and discovery.
- Mediation and trial experience is beneficial but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard legal technology tools.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and client communication skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities
- Manage a billable caseload under attorney supervision.
- Draft, review, and respond to pleadings, motions, and written discovery.
- Attend hearings, court appearances, and client meetings as needed.
- Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
- Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy.
- Support mediation and trial preparation efforts.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and legal support staff to achieve favorable case outcomes.

Compensation based on experience – $60-70/hr.
