Contract Attorney 3+ Years Experience

(3+ months)

A well-established civil litigation law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its growing defense litigation practice on a contract basis. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators and gain hands-on experience handling a diverse caseload involving premises liability, personal injury, and general liability matters.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Active Texas Bar license in good standing.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred.
  • Experience in one or more of the following practice areas is a plus:
    • General liability
    • Premises liability
    • Bodily injury
    • Product liability
    • Construction defect litigation
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Experience with depositions, court appearances, motion practice, and discovery.
  • Mediation and trial experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard legal technology tools.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and client communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a billable caseload under attorney supervision.
  • Draft, review, and respond to pleadings, motions, and written discovery.
  • Attend hearings, court appearances, and client meetings as needed.
  • Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy.
  • Support mediation and trial preparation efforts.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and legal support staff to achieve favorable case outcomes.

Compensation based on experience – $60-70/hr.
