Customer Service Specialist (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Fridley, MN (5 days a week onsite)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract to Hire
Compensation: $27-$29 per hour


Overview

Beacon Hill’s client is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to play a critical role in delivering a seamless customer experience. This individual will act as the central point of communication, translating customer needs internally and proactively providing solutions while supporting manufacturing operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers in a consistently professional, approachable, and service-oriented manner
  • Ensure all customer inquiries and requests are handled efficiently and accurately, including:
    • Processing orders
    • Preparing quotes
    • Coordinating prototypes
    • Providing material specifications and safety documentation
    • Sharing shipping and delivery updates
  • Develop a solid understanding of available materials and production capabilities in order to recommend alternative solutions that align with customer goals
  • Anticipate and communicate realistic timelines by factoring in current production lead times, helping manage expectations early in the process
  • Collaborate with production scheduling and internal teams to optimize workflow and reduce manufacturing delays
  • Translate customer requests into clear, actionable instructions for internal teams
  • Serve as a positive representative of the organization, reinforcing a customer-first mindset and commitment to service excellence
  • Make informed decisions with a high level of independence while managing customer needs and business priorities
  • Provide support across additional functional areas as needed, including:
    • Pricing and estimating
    • Sales coordination
    • Quality-related follow-up
    • Accounts receivable support
  • Adhere to all workplace safety standards and promote a culture focused on prevention and compliance

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in a B2B customer service environment required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
