Job Overview
Beacon Hill is partnering with a growing industrial supply and distribution company seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is a hands-on role supporting day-to-day human resources operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong employee relations experience, payroll knowledge, and familiarity with HRIS systems, preferably Paylocity.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions, policies, and procedures
- Support employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, coaching, and performance-related issues
- Assist with full-cycle onboarding and offboarding processes
- Process and support payroll activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation within the HRIS system
- Administer benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries
- Support leave administration, including FMLA, CFRA, workers’ compensation, and other employee leaves
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Assist with recruiting coordination, interview scheduling, and new hire paperwork as needed
- Generate HR reports and assist with audits, compliance initiatives, and special projects
- Partner with management to support employee engagement and workforce planning efforts
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience in a Generalist or similar HR role
- Payroll processing experience required
- Experience with Paylocity strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience handling employee relations matters independently
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but not required
- Ability to work a full onsite schedule of Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with occasional Saturday availability as needed.

- Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or blue-collar workforces
- Exposure to benefits administration, leave management, and compliance reporting
- Comfortable working in a fully onsite environment and collaborating across departments
