A growing, people‑first organization with a national footprint is seeking an HR Coordinator to join its Human Resources team in Chicago. This role supports employees and managers across multiple locations and is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who enjoys operational work, compliance, and creating a positive employee experience.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a day‑to‑day HR point of contact for employees and managers, escalating complex matters as needed
- Maintain accurate employee records and administer HRIS data with a high level of confidentiality
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth employee experience
- Support benefits administration and partner with vendors to resolve employee inquiries
- Maintain HR documentation and assist with compliance reporting (e.g., EEO‑1, OSHA)
- Help develop HR resources and support training, engagement, and HR projects
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and internal tools
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of HR experience
- Experience using an HRIS and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Strong attention to detail and comfort handling confidential information
- Professional, approachable communication style and a collaborative mindset
