This temporary, part-time opportunity offers 20 hours per with a higher education/career services organization. The assignment is scheduled to run from August 17 through October 16, with a strong possibility of extension. Pay is $26.65/hour. The position focuses on supporting career technology platforms, including Handshake and VMock, while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations during a staff leave.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage routine Handshake account requests, approvals, updates, and access corrections for students, alumni, and other eligible users.
- Monitor shared inboxes and respond to common user inquiries regarding account access and platform usage.
- Troubleshoot basic login, activation, profile, and email verification issues.
- Escalate complex policy, eligibility, configuration, or technical issues to designated staff members.
- Support appointment access requests and identify account discrepancies requiring review.
- Assist with employer account and job posting inquiries and flag suspicious or unusual activity.
- Perform data maintenance, profile corrections, labeling, and small-scale cleanup projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation, trackers, and records of requests, escalations, and recurring issues.
- Prepare weekly activity summaries and coordinate with internal stakeholders as needed.
- Provide VMock administration support, including user access, troubleshooting, module assignments, and routine account maintenance.
Candidate Qualifications
- Prior experience with Handshake or a similar career services, recruiting, or talent management platform preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and follow established procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
- Excellent attention to detail when reviewing user eligibility and account information.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Basic technical troubleshooting skills and comfort working in web-based systems.
- Self-directed work style with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Experience in higher education, career services, or related environments is helpful.
- Familiarity with university systems and policies is a plus, but not required.
