Revenue Accountant

Revenue Accountant – Arlington, VA

Beacon Hill is seeking a Revenue Accountant to join a growing accounting team. This position will be responsible for supporting the revenue accounting process, including revenue recognition, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with revenue-related accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support revenue recognition and related accounting activities
• Prepare revenue-related journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• Reconcile revenue accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Review contracts, billing activity, and supporting documentation for accurate revenue recognition
• Maintain revenue schedules and supporting documentation
• Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Partner with billing, finance, and other accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting
• Identify opportunities to improve revenue accounting processes and controls

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to revenue accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles, including ASC 606
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams

Preferred Experience:

• Direct revenue recognition or revenue accounting experience
