Job Summary:
The Accounting Clerk provides day-to-day support to the accounting department with a primary focus on accounts payable and general accounting functions. This role assists with transaction processing, reconciliations, and administrative accounting tasks, with future exposure to additional accounting functions as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable invoices, including data entry, coding, and payment preparation using QuickBooks Desktop
Reconcile credit card and electronic funds transfer (EFT) statements
Assist with sales tax filings and other tax-related accounting tasks
Manage and reconcile petty cash transactions
Provide general accounts payable and accounting support
Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and inquiries
Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using QuickBooks Desktop
Basic understanding of accounts payable and general accounting principles
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities, including potential exposure to payroll and financial reporting
