Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a e-commerce company in Manhattan to bring a Garnishment/Payroll Specialist to their team on a contract basis. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of garnishment orders, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, and serving as a liaison between employees. Key Responsibilities
- Process and administer wage garnishments, including child support orders, tax levies, creditor garnishments, and other legally mandated deductions
- Review and interpret garnishment notices and ensure accurate setup and maintenance within payroll systems
- Monitor garnishment activity to ensure timely and accurate withholding of employee wages
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local garnishment regulations
- Coordinate with government agencies, courts, legal representatives, and third-party payroll vendors regarding garnishment inquiries and updates
- Track and manage garnishment lifecycle events, including new orders, modifications, releases, and terminations
- Reconcile garnishment deductions and payments on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Maintain organized and confidential employee payroll records and supporting documentation
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding garnishments with professionalism and discretion
- Assist with payroll-related projects, audits, and administrative tasks as needed
