Garnishment/Payroll Specialist

Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a e-commerce company in Manhattan to bring a Garnishment/Payroll Specialist to their team on a contract basis. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of garnishment orders, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, and serving as a liaison between employees. Key Responsibilities

  • Process and administer wage garnishments, including child support orders, tax levies, creditor garnishments, and other legally mandated deductions
  • Review and interpret garnishment notices and ensure accurate setup and maintenance within payroll systems
  • Monitor garnishment activity to ensure timely and accurate withholding of employee wages
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local garnishment regulations
  • Coordinate with government agencies, courts, legal representatives, and third-party payroll vendors regarding garnishment inquiries and updates
  • Track and manage garnishment lifecycle events, including new orders, modifications, releases, and terminations
  • Reconcile garnishment deductions and payments on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain organized and confidential employee payroll records and supporting documentation
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding garnishments with professionalism and discretion
  • Assist with payroll-related projects, audits, and administrative tasks as needed
