Beacon Hill is collaborating with a non-profit in Manhattan to bring a Senior Accountant to their growing team. This role will serve as the organization’s primary internal accounting resource, taking ownership of the general ledger, month-end close process, financial reporting accuracy, and accounting operations. Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the organization’s general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and financial reporting
- Review journal entries, account coding, allocations, and financial transactions for accuracy across multiple funding sources and programs
- Investigate accounting discrepancies, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with external accounting partners to review financial data, resolve issues, and ensure timely completion of accounting deliverables
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash activity to support accurate financial reporting
- Assist with revenue recognition, restricted funds tracking, grant accounting, and funder reporting requirements
- Support annual audits and prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for auditors
