Accounting Specialist – Washington, DC
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Washington, DC in their search for an Accounting Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, hybrid position responsible for supporting a variety of accounting functions, with a focus on accounts payable, reconciliations, expense reporting, and month-end activities. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments

Review and verify expense reports, ensuring receipts are attached and compliant with company policies

Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed

Assist with accrual accounting and preparing supporting schedules

Support the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries and assisting with reporting needs

Maintain and organize accounting documentation to ensure compliance with audit requirements

Monitor workload within the accounts payable function and ensure timely completion of tasks

Collaborate with internal teams to resolve inquiries related to invoices, expenses, and reconciliations

Utilize Workday to process transactions and ensure accurate data management
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

Experience with Workday or similar accounting/ERP systems

Strong understanding of accrual accounting and reconciliations

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

High attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
