Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy for salaries, benefits, taxes, garnishments, and deductions
- Review and maintain payroll systems, recommending improvements where needed
- Prepare detailed payroll reports, including earnings, tax filings, leave, and deductions
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Reconcile payroll funding with general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
- Support internal and external audits by providing required payroll data
- Develop and update payroll policies, procedures, and workflows
- Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Accounting teams
- Lead, train, and develop payroll staff, including performance management and workflow optimization
- Safeguard confidentiality of employee payroll data
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation required
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll management experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs)
- Experience with payroll systems and integrations
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
