Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy for salaries, benefits, taxes, garnishments, and deductions
• Review and maintain payroll systems, recommending improvements where needed
• Prepare detailed payroll reports, including earnings, tax filings, leave, and deductions
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Reconcile payroll funding with general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
• Support internal and external audits by providing required payroll data
• Develop and update payroll policies, procedures, and workflows
• Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Accounting teams
• Lead, train, and develop payroll staff, including performance management and workflow optimization
• Safeguard confidentiality of employee payroll data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation required
• Minimum of 5 years of payroll management experience
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs)
• Experience with payroll systems and integrations
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
