Role Overview
The Senior Sourcing Advisor serves as a key liaison between Category Managers, internal business owners, and suppliers throughout the sourcing lifecycle. This role is responsible for leading and supporting sourcing initiatives, particularly within IT and professional services, ensuring optimal outcomes related to cost, quality, risk, and compliance.
The scope of work varies and requires the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, partner effectively with stakeholders across the organization, and independently drive solutions that support evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for business owners in categories that are unmanaged or undergoing change
- Lead sourcing activities for assigned projects, including understanding business requirements and translating them into sourcing strategies
- Manage and execute sourcing processes such as RFI/RFP/RFQ development, supplier evaluation, due diligence, and contract support
- Drive commercial terms and contract negotiations to optimize cost, quality, and risk outcomes
- Own and manage supplier agreements, leveraging sourcing and contract analyst support as needed
- Analyze proposal responses and make recommendations in partnership with cross‑functional teams
- Develop and execute RFPs with input from finance, legal, IT, and operational stakeholders
- Perform detailed spend, supplier, and market analysis to support sourcing decisions
- Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with internal stakeholders and supplier partners
- Identify and evaluate alternate and backup suppliers using industry best practices
- Drive savings initiatives and manage a continuous savings pipeline aligned with procurement targets
- Document and communicate sourcing results and savings achievements
- Ensure sourcing standards and best practices are followed through education and stakeholder engagement
- Support supplier meetings and reviews, both onsite and virtually
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while adapting to shifting priorities
Skills & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance, business, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, finance, IT, operations, or related disciplines
- Strong background in strategic sourcing and procurement, with emphasis on IT and professional services
- Demonstrated experience negotiating with supplier leadership and managing enterprise‑level contracts
- Working knowledge of contractual terms, risk mitigation, and compliance considerations
- Practical experience with sourcing analysis techniques (TCO, make/buy, ROI, risk assessment)
- Proven ability to analyze complex problems and develop actionable, business‑focused solutions
- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple stakeholders and priorities
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently, make decisions with limited information, and operate with autonomy
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
