Location: Hybrid role – 2-3 days in the client’s Seattle office. Parking is not covered.
Duration: 6-month assignment with the possibility of becoming permanent
Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week
Job Information:
- Must have at least 3 years of real estate paralegal experience
- Understanding of legal terminology specific to real estate practice
- Experience dealing with companies
- Expert level skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
- Internet research skills are essential
- Must have good judgment, decision making and follow through skills
- Needs to have persistent and effective communication with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Takes initiative at handling projects and anticipating what needs to be done
- High level of time management skills where they can work independently and meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions
- Experience with HighQ, DropBox, Box, and/or other data room platforms would be preferred
- Experience with Smartsheets would be preferred
- Experience tracking their billable and non-billable time
Duties could include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare transactional closing documents, checklists, memorandums, title objection letter, post-closing memorandums, closing binders
- Conduct title and survey due diligence review and analysis for complex real estate transactions
- Manage electronic data room files
- Prepare and update matters in Deal Tracker
- Track transaction details – create and utilize checklists, monitor and follow up to ensure completion and compliance of all required documentation for real estate closings
- Work with title companies to handle recordings in several jurisdictions
- Investigation of factual issues using a variety of resources
- Utilize firm technology and software and those specific to the real estate practice group
- Maintain client, matter and practice group specific libraries in hard copy, electronic form, or both
- Coordinates storage of client information with the firm’s records department
- Maintain all administrative standards set by the firm
- Coordination and analysis of UCC, litigation, and other public record source materials
