Payroll Manager (Multi-State) | ADP Workforce Now
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end, multi-state payroll operations for a large organization. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while leading payroll systems, reconciliations, reporting, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle, multi-state payroll using ADP Workforce Now
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations (FICA, garnishments, unemployment)
- Oversee payroll deductions (benefits, 401(k), FSA) and year-end W-2 processing
- Perform payroll reconciliations (GL, bank, tax filings) and support audits
- Lead payroll system upgrades, integrations, and process improvements
- Supervise and develop payroll staff; serve as escalation point for complex issues
- Partner with HR, Accounting, and payroll vendors to ensure data accuracy
Qualifications
- 10-15 years of payroll experience; 5+ years in a leadership role
- Strong multi-state payroll and compliance expertise
- ADP Workforce Now proficiency required
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP)
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and discretion
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPP certification highly preferred
