We are seeking a motivated and experienced Drafter to support the documentation and modeling of existing fixtures, jigs, and tooling used in a manufacturing environment.This position is a 6-month contract to start, and will be on-site full time on Rancho Dominguez.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This role will focus on reverse engineering current equipment, creating accurate 3D models and drawings, and releasing documentation through a formal change control process. The ideal candidate will have strong experience using SolidWorks in a regulated manufacturing setting and be comfortable working cross‑functionally with production and engineering teams. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

  • Interface with production operators and engineering SME’s to identify, catalog, reverse engineer, and model existing fixtures in SolidWorks.
  • Release models, drawings, and documentation into the PDM vault through the change control process
  • Generate engineering documentation including test protocols, change controls, action plans, and reports.
  • Communicate with a global engineering network to advance strategic project initiatives in support of ongoing corporate growth.
  • Operate within the Quality Management System
  • This is an on-site role.
  • Perform research and implementation of process improvements to support best in class manufacturing in the areas of Filtration & Support Systems

Knowledge:

  • Typically requires 5 years’ experience of drafting experience in aerospace or medical devices.
  • Associates degree
  • Must demonstrate mastery with SolidWorks/CAD, MS Office, and electronic file management.
  • Consistent technical proficiency, and collaboration with others.
  • Detailed expertise or unique knowledge, use skills to contribute to development of company principles and to achieve goals.

Complexity:

  • Conceives, plans, and executes projects or aspects of projects related to the strategic needs of the company.
  • Applies advanced technical knowledge to multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Independent management of projects, scopes and defines actions to meet goals.

Supervision:

  • Can execute projects with minimal direction on projects goals and work with significant autonomy
  • Ability to communicate issue and project status to upper management team
  • Regularly work in a clean room and laboratory environment.
  • Regularly exposed to chemicals, fumes and/or airborne particles.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and noise.
  • Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
