A mission-driven nonprofit organization in the Miracle Mile area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This role will be responsible for supporting the accounting function with a focus on billing, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close. The ideal candidate will come from the nonprofit industry and bring strong accounting fundamentals along with excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle billing/invoicing and ensure accurate and timely processing
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end close
- Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
- Support preparation of financial reports
- Assist with maintaining accurate records in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards
- Help with audit support and other accounting-related projects
- Partner with internal teams to resolve billing and accounting discrepancies
Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Nonprofit industry experience is required
- Experience with billing and general ledger accounting
- Experience with Financial Edge is preferred
- Strong understanding of reconciliations and month-end close
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience with financial reporting and audit preparation
