Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Downtown Los Angeles, is seeking an experienced HMIS Analyst to support data management, reporting, and system optimization efforts during a critical project period. This role will serve as a key liaison between internal teams, partner agencies, and the HMIS platform to ensure accurate and timely data reporting in alignment with HUD requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical liaison between HMIS users, partner agencies, and the system vendor
- Provide ongoing support to ensure data integrity, completeness, and timely entry into HMIS
- Perform detailed data validation and quality assurance across multiple programs and datasets
- Analyze trends and generate reports to support program performance and decision-making
- Assist with system administration tasks including user setup, program configuration, and feature rollouts
- Troubleshoot system issues, test updates/patches, and support continuous system improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements and develop dashboards
- Provide training and technical support to internal staff and partner agencies
- Maintain knowledge of HUD data standards and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
- Support process improvement initiatives and recommend efficiencies, including automation where possible
Qualifications:
- 2-5+ years of experience in data analysis, HMIS, or nonprofit program reporting
- Experience working within HMIS or similar case management/data systems strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of HUD data standards and reporting requirements is a plus
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL/MySQL
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, or similar) preferred
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical users
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
