Position Title: Temporary Accountant (Contract – 90+ Days to hire)
Pay Rate: $26-28 per hour
Schedule: Full-time | 8:00-4:30 or 8:30-5:00 (30-minute lunch)
Location: On-site (Beachwood, OH area)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Temporary Accountant for a 90+ day assignment with the potential for contract-to-hire consideration for an exceptional candidate. This role is responsible for managing daily accounting activities, preparing interim and annual financial reports, and supporting the overall operations and internal controls of the accounting department.

This is an excellent opportunity for an entry- to mid-level accounting professional with strong technical skills and MUST HAVE hands-on NetSuite experience.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare periodic financial reports for endowment funds, special purpose funds, and affiliated entities, including reports for internal leadership and committee presentations

Prepare schedules for year-end consolidation (50+ entities) and assist with audit footnotes for external auditors

Calculate spending allocations and fees associated with endowment funds

Manage accounting activity related to endowment, special purpose funds, and affiliated entities

Assist with billing processes

Support budget development and ongoing budget management

Maintain strong internal controls and assist with daily accounting operations

Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience

Experience with NetSuite (required)

Entry to mid-level experience preferred (not suitable for brand-new graduates)

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of standard accounting principles and practices

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Self-motivated with strong initiative and independent judgment

Professional demeanor and ability to collaborate effectively

Preferred Qualifications

CPA designation

Public accounting experience (audit background preferred)

Experience in nonprofit accounting

Work Environment

Fully on-site role

Business casual dress (dressier side of casual)
