Our client, a North Austin member-owned financial institution serving the Greater Austin community, is seeking a detail-oriented Loan Funding Specialist to support end-to-end consumer loan funding operations and ensure a seamless experience for both members and internal lending teams. This position is responsible for reviewing loan documentation, clearing stipulations, coordinating with loan officers and dealers, and funding loans in accordance with established service level agreements while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced, member-focused environment that is service-driven, collaborative, and committed to financial well-being. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, attention to detail, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering an exceptional member experience. This is a fully onsite, 8:00AM-4:00PM Monday-Friday role. This is a temporary to permanent role, with a 3 month trial period before going permanent. Once permanent, candidates are eligible for benefits.
Responsibilities:

Work closely with loan officers to maintain high conversion ratios of loans.

Adheres to Service Level Agreements for stipulations to follow up.

Adheres to Service Level Agreements for Funding.

Maintains liaison with other credit union departments.

Ensures accurate booking of loans in core systems.

Submits required forms to appropriate staff to ensure registration of lien.

Quality control of all loan documentation and verification that all required disclosures have been executed to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements have been met.

Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to lending and credit union compliance including Patriot Act, Truth in Lending, Reg B, Reg Z, Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering laws as appropriate to the position.

Identify red flags in loan documentation to identify and resolve potential fraud concerns.

Responsible for working on the daily funding report and reviewing the corresponding loan documents housed within the document imaging system for accuracy and completeness.

Responsible for daily post-closing quality assurance review of funded loans in the core system.

Conduct Income verification.
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
1-3 years of experience in consumer lending, member services, or loan funding
-
Previous working experience with loan origination platforms

Previous credit union experience
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Knowledge of legal requirements for consumer loan documentation

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle confidential material ethically
