Senior Bankruptcy Paralegal
Full-Time | Direct Hire | Hybrid
Locations: Dallas, Houston, or Austin, TX
Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with an Am Law 100 firm who is seeking a Senior Bankruptcy Paralegal to support a busy Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice. This role supports attorneys on complex commercial bankruptcy and restructuring matters and manages a high-volume docket from case inception through resolution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This position includes an annual billable hour component of1500 hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys on complex commercial bankruptcy and restructuring matters, serving as a primary point of contact with clients, trustees, and court personnel
- Draft, revise, and electronically file bankruptcy pleadings and related documents (including petitions, first‑day motions, proofs of claim, disclosure statements, and fee applications) in compliance with court rules
- Manage case logistics by tracking deadlines, hearings, and milestones, maintaining calendars, service lists, and case management systems
- Conduct factual, procedural, and market research using PACER, court dockets, and financial/legal databases; prepare UCC filings, lien searches, and due diligence summaries
- Prepare case summaries, timelines, exhibits, hearing binders, and trial materials; assist with preparation for hearings, §341 meetings, depositions, and trials
- Accurately record billable time, maintain organized case files, coordinate hearing logistics and vendors, and ensure strict confidentiality and ethical compliance
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, Paralegal Certificate from an ABA‑approved program is a plus
- 8+ years of bankruptcy and restructuring paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm
- Strong knowledge of bankruptcy rules and court systems, with exceptional attention to detail and organization
- Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong proofreading abilities
- Client‑focused, professional, and collaborative, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems (e.g., iManage or similar); familiarity with Reorg, Debtwire, and Capital IQ preferred
- Flexibility to work extended hours as business needs require
