A growing consumer products company is preparing for a potential transaction and is seeking an Interim Staff Accountant / Financial Analyst to support the Accounting Manager and CFO during the sale process. This is a 12week project-based role focused on financial clean-up, analysis, and transaction readiness.

This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable taking ownership of projects in a fast-paced environment. The right person will be a hands-on contributor who can quickly step in, manage assigned tasks independently, and help ensure financial information is accurate, organized, and ready for external review.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Accounting Manager and CFO with financial preparation related to the company’s potential sale

  • Assist with gathering, organizing, and validating financial data for transaction and due diligence requests

  • Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies across key balance sheet and income statement accounts

  • Help compile supporting schedules and documentation for diligence materials and data room requests

  • Track and help respond to buyer, advisor, and auditor Q&A during the diligence process

  • Assist with financial analysis, variance explanations, and management reporting as needed

  • Prepare ad hoc schedules and reports to support executive decision-making and transaction readiness

  • Review historical financial data and assist in organizing documentation for external stakeholders

  • Support improvements in financial organization, documentation, and internal reporting processes

  • Assist with month-end close tasks and other accounting projects as needed during the engagement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 2-5+ years of accounting, audit, or financial analysis experience

  • Prior experience in audit, transaction support, or working with diligence processes is a plus

  • Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a deadline-driven environment

  • Comfortable working directly with senior leadership and handling sensitive financial information
