Director of Accounting – Manufacturing

As the Director of Accounting, you will serve as the financial anchor for our manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will oversee the integrity of our financial data, ensure rigorous compliance, and drive the analytical insights necessary to optimize our production efficiency.

We are looking for a leader who doesn’t just manage the books but understands the heartbeat of the factory floor-translating complex data into actionable strategies that support our long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Controller, you will ensure that all financial statements and reports are prepared with precision and speed, adhering to corporate policies, GAAP, and applicable regulations. Your role is pivotal in:

  • Performance Delivery: Partnering with the Controller to hit monthly performance targets.

  • Compliance Leadership: Maintaining a “gold standard” internal control environment.

  • Strategic Execution: Driving business initiatives that bridge the gap between accounting and operational excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Financial Integrity: Own the end-to-end monthly general ledger closing and reconciliation process, ensuring a seamless and accurate transition from production data to financial reporting.

  • Strategic Planning: Support the development of annual operating plans and rolling forecasts; lead comprehensive variance analysis to identify performance gaps.

  • Internal Controls & SOX: Lead the execution of monthly financial control procedures (ASAT/SOX) to ensure the facility remains audit-ready at all times.

  • Operational Partnership: Develop sophisticated tools and reporting packages that empower commercial and operational teams to meet their financial targets.

  • Cost Management: Proactively identify opportunities for cost reduction, waste elimination, and the sharing of financial best practices across the organization.

  • Audit Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external auditors, facilitating timely and successful audits.

  • Culture & Ethics: Foster a culture of strict adherence to the corporate code of conduct and ensure all systems are leveraged to accurately plan and deliver on expectations.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Expertise: Formal training and in-depth experience in Cost Accounting, financial reporting, and local/state/federal tax regulations.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting leadership within a manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with SOX compliance
