Senior Cost Accountant Opportunity

Location: El Segundo, CA – Hybrid

Compensation: $110,000 – $150,000 (DOE)

Reports To: Director

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Senior Cost Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic setting where production processes are being built and refined.

You will be deeply involved in the day-to-day flow of inventory and manufacturing transactions, ensuring financial accuracy in a high-volume environment while helping establish the foundation for more efficient, scalable accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting & Month-End Close

  • Responsible for general cost accounting transactions and activity.

  • Support the month-end close, ensuring accurate inventory reconciliations and manufacturing-related accruals.

  • Conduct gross margin analysis and provide key insights into cost drivers and fluctuations to company leadership.

  • Perform comprehensive flux analysis across inventory, COGS, and overall production activity.

Inventory Management & Production Control

  • Review and validate Bills of Materials to ensure accurate and reliable product costing.

  • Operate as a trusted partner with key personnel – Operations, Production, Supply Chain, etc. to ensure accurate inventory.

  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventory tracking.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Experience: 2+ years of cost accounting or inventory accounting experience within a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong understanding of transactional accounting and standard costing systems.
