Beacon Hill is seeking a Logistics Specialist for a contract position located in Alpharetta Georgia.
This role specializes in domestic and international shipping coordination and freight operations support. The position involves shipment tracking, documentation, auditing freight invoices, and managing vendor relationships across the supply chain. This is a hybrid role with 4 days in-office and 1 day remote per week.
Daily Duties:
* Manage day-to-day transportation planning for inbound and outbound shipments
* Track and trace customer shipments and update milestones per SOPs
* Prepare and distribute customs and freight documentation
* Respond to carrier rate requests and customer inquiries
* Audit freight invoices, resolve discrepancies, and approve charges
* Monitor carrier allocation and stock levels
* Assist with customs, detention management, and logistics reporting
* Maintain strong communication with TMS provider, carriers, and internal teams
* Support continuous improvement and help identify process gaps
* Engage with local suppliers, freight brokers, and warehouse partners
Ideal Candidate:
* 2-3 years of freight operations experience (freight forwarder, carrier, or importer)
* 1-2 years working in a 3PL environment and/or with TMS systems
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
* Bachelor’s degree preferred
* Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong communication skills
* Customer-first mindset and problem-solving attitude
* Able to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative setting
Position Details:
* Pay Rate: $28.85 – $30/hour
* Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 1-hour lunch
* Dress Code: Casual (jeans daily; shorts permitted in summer)
* Environment: Hybrid – 4 days in-office, 1 day remote
* Training: On-the-job, with strong mentoring and support
