Senior Accountant
Location: San Gabriel Valley, CA
Industry: Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) / Manufacturing
Compensation: $110,000 Base Salary + Benefits
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
About the Company
We are a growing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturer based in the San Gabriel Valley. Our products are distributed through retail, e-commerce, and wholesale channels, and we are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to support the continued growth of our manufacturing operations. This position offers direct exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to work closely with the CFO on strategic accounting and financial initiatives.
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing the month-end close process, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing cost analysis. This individual will work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and maintain strong internal controls. The ideal candidate will have experience in CPG, manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-intensive environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage inventory accounting, including inventory reconciliations, reserves, and valuation adjustments.
- Analyze manufacturing and production costs, labor, overhead allocation, and inventory variances.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Support external audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory controls and reporting processes.
- Identify and implement accounting process improvements and efficiencies.
- Assist the CFO with special projects, analysis, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within CPG, manufacturing, food & beverage, consumer products, or distribution industries.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

- Manufacturing cost accounting and inventory management.
- Multi-location or multi-channel distribution environments.
- Experience supporting audits and implementing process improvements.
