- Lead the design, development, and integration of UAS, aerospace, and aeromechanical systems from concept development through production-ready solutions.
- Serve as a technical lead for multidisciplinary engineering teams, providing direction, decision-making, and mentorship throughout the product lifecycle.
- Design, build, and test prototypes to validate system performance, functionality, and manufacturability.
- Perform aeromechanical design activities including airframes, mechanical assemblies, powerplant integration, and mission-critical subsystems.
- Conduct engineering analyses, including FEA, CFD, structural, thermal, and kinematic evaluations to support design decisions.
- Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams to communicate technical concepts, requirements, design tradeoffs, and project status.
- Support mechanical, laboratory, environmental, field, and flight testing activities while evaluating results and implementing design improvements.
- Drive projects to successful completion by managing technical execution, schedules, budgets, documentation, configuration management, and production readiness activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of progressive engineering experience in aerospace, mechanical engineering, unmanned systems, or related product development environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading the design and development of complex aerospace, aviation, robotic, or electromechanical systems from concept through production.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, structural dynamics, and material properties for metallic, plastic, and composite designs.
- Proficiency with engineering design and analysis tools, including SolidWorks, FEA, CFD, and industry-standard engineering documentation practices.
- Experience designing machined, sheet metal, composite, injection molded, wire harness, and mechanical assembly components for various manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, ASME standards, change control, configuration management, testing methodologies, and engineering documentation processes.
- Active or Interim Secret clearance required
