Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney for a long-term contract opportunity in Atlanta, Georgia.

This is an immediate need for an experienced litigation attorney to support a high-volume legal department handling complex civil matters. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing cases from inception through resolution and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with significant interaction across multiple stakeholders.

Position Details

  • Long-term contract opportunity with potential for temp-to-perm conversion
  • Full-time schedule, 40 hours per week
  • Hybrid schedule: 4 days onsite and 1 day remote
  • Downtown Atlanta, GA
  • Immediate start available
  • Hourly rate: $42/hour

Responsibilities

  • Handle all phases of litigation from case initiation through appeal
  • Develop litigation strategy and oversee case management
  • Conduct written and oral discovery
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and other litigation documents
  • Participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings
  • Collaborate with junior attorneys and legal staff on case strategy and execution
  • Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues
  • Draft legislative and policy-related materials as needed

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active Georgia Bar license in good standing
  • Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience
  • Experience practicing in both state and federal courts
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
  • Experience handling depositions, hearings, and motion practice
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • First or second chair trial experience
  • Experience mentoring or working closely with associate attorneys
  • Background in municipal, county, state government, tort, employment, or constitutional law
  • Experience researching and drafting legislation
