Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our growing laboratory team in Indianapolis. This entry-level role supports the receipt, processing, preparation, and testing of biofluid samples in a regulated laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific foundation, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining quality standards while contributing to meaningful research and testing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, label, and organize human biofluid specimens according to established procedures.
- Perform routine sample preparation activities including aliquoting, centrifugation, pipetting, and storage.
- Support laboratory testing and analytical activities under the supervision of senior laboratory personnel.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, electronic documentation, and sample tracking systems.
- Follow laboratory SOPs, quality guidelines, and safety procedures when handling biological materials.
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and laboratory supplies for testing activities.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning, calibration, and maintenance activities.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering or stocking laboratory consumables.
- Ensure laboratory work areas remain clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate effectively with laboratory staff to meet operational timelines and project goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific field.
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and scientific principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous academic, internship, research, or industry laboratory experience.
- Experience handling biological specimens or human biofluids.
- Exposure to GLP, GCP, GMP, CAP, CLIA, or other regulated laboratory environments.
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, sample management systems, or electronic laboratory documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during laboratory activities.
- Ability to lift and move laboratory supplies up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work safely with biological materials while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
